The Cauchari-Olaroz project, located in the Salar Cauchari-Olaroz, in the province of Jujuy (Argentina), is one of the leading lithium-producing salt flats in the world. This lithium project is currently the closest to production for Ganfeng in Argentina.
Ancillary project infrastructure includes paved roads, 300 MW-solar power farms, and a natural gas network. Production levels are expected to reach 40,000 tons per year of lithium carbonate (Li2CO3). The project's lithium resources stand at approximately 24.58 million tons of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE).
The project is being managed by a joint venture involving Ganfeng Lithium, America Lithium and JEMSE (Jujuy Energía y Minería Sociedad del Estado).
A total investment of six hundred and forty-one million dollars (USD 641,000,000) is planned, and the project is billed to create over 2,100 direct and indirect jobs in the province of Jujuy and in Argentina as a whole.
